Over the past eight years, HLC has been investing in and developing its biomass facilities that utilise wood waste for energy. Around 20-30 tonnes of wood waste is used each day to power 13 kilns and provide factory heating.
Not only is this a solution for dealing with wood waste, but it provides an additional service for our customers, whereby wood waste, otherwise heading to landfill, can be collected from customers’ sites and used to power the biomass boilers.
Along with significant environmental benefits, including massive CO2 savings, the biomass facilities also enable us to manage energy costs, keeping costs down for customers – so it’s a win win situation for everyone!
